New to, and curious about mindfulness? Anyone who would like to create a bit more mental space and curious to see if mindfulness is for you. This is the course for you…
This is 4-weekly sessions for 1 hour each, plus the encouragement and resources to practice mindfulness daily between each session. This is a good way to experience mindfulness and find out if it is for you before embarking on an 8-week MBSR course.
The course is offered through an online platform where you experience the group and teacher virtually. If this is new for you, that’s fine, we can help. It is very easy to navigate and there will be an orientation session before the course starts to help you feel at ease with the technology and ask any questions or concerns. If you can't attend a session we can share an audio recording so you won't miss out.
If the dates and times are not suitable please contact us and let us know, if enough people are interested in a similar time we can try to arrange another course.
This is a taster course to give you a small experience of mindfulness and will cover basic mindfulness meditations lasting between 5 – 15 minutes, some information about mindfulness and an opportunity for you to share your experiences of mindfulness with others in the group should you wish to.
For mindfulness to have its greatest impact and for you to support your own well-being and feel the benefits then daily practice of 40+ minutes of mindfulness meditation daily for a minimum of 8-weeks is required as stated by the research. If you are interested in joining the 4-week mindfulness taster course but unsure if it is suitable for your needs we can arrange a short call and to answer any questions you may have. The call usually lasts about 15 minutes and at a time that is suitable for you.
This course is not suitable for anyone who is currently suffering from depression or psychiatric illness. Please always seek medical advice and permission from your doctor before attending a mindfulness course if you are currently under any medical care for any illness.
